Benji's got scars and ailments as a result of the situations he's been through, but I would still prefer to discuss any further permanent injury to him. Death is currently off the table for his mainline, but AUs and What Ifs are acceptable with some plotting beforehand.
I prefer not to play with self-inserts. WoLs and canon characters are on a case-by-case basis.
001 Please have a healthy relationship with fiction. People who can't distinguish between fiction and reality, and that what we write doesn't strictly reflect our personal beliefs, aren't really fun to play dolls with. 006 Benji is a highly sexual character. I keep him canon-typical levels of innuendo in public channels, but he can be compelled to more if others are comfortable. If this makes you uncomfortable at all, please tell me! Consent is important to me. 007 While the character himself is generally upbeat, his story involves discussions of fascism, oppression, privilege, politics across the spectrum, the pit of man's fears, the summit of his knowledge, and the horrors of war. Certain dialogue and event choices can end up with graphic descriptions of injuries and torture. A strong theme is the absurdity and pointlessness of war and imperialism, along with frank acknowledgement of the nuance and depth of the human (or Spoken) condition. 008 If your goal is pure escapism, Benji might seem like a good surface level choice, but you'll miss out on a lot of his character. The Beginning
Lucius Gallus was the name of the first born son of the Gallus family, an honourable position that came with the heavy load of expectation.
The Middle
Benjamin Gioeli was one of the names listed among refugees arrived to Ul'dah after the razing of Doma. While the man the name was attached to was clearly not of Doman descent, nor was it even an attempt at a Doman name, his fellow refugees would not disclose where he had come from; a hint all its own, really. When the Scions found a place for the refugees in Revenant's Toll, his skillset found him a corresponding place among Garlond Ironworks.It took moons for his largest facial wound — a nasty gash that opened his mouth up from corner to ear — to heal up in a way that didn't expose teeth. While Benji doesn't appear to mind his disfigurement overmuch, he does appear apprehensive about it for reasons unrelated to sensitivity. But like many things in Benji's life, he takes it as it comes. After all, there's no sense crying about something he can't change.So he's not an overly handsome man by most standards. A little plain, even. But when the light catches in his brown eyes and turns them gold, when he smiles that boyish smile, one can see why the engineer-turned-pilot has a woman in every port, so to speak, despite the state of his face. He's funny, he's smart, and he's kind. That's a rarity these days, isn't it?When the Final Days came, Benji supplied both his hands and his knowledge to the tasks that lay before the world. Hard work, desperate work, but it was hard, desperate work that eventually led him to securing a position with the resulting peacetime's Cosmic Exploration Initiative, travelling the stars and working alongside some of the sharpest minds of the Era.So yeah, Benji's doing okay for himself.
